Born in Catania on 18th june 1966, she got the degree in Mathematics on 12th july 1988 Magna cum Laude.

In 1992 she got a position as assistant professor of Mathematical Analysis at the University of Catania.

Since january 2000 she is associate professor of Mathematical Analysis at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Catania.

In june 2013 obtained the national scientific qualification of full professor of Mathematical Analysis.

  • She has been a member of several boards for procedures to fill posts of associate professor and university researcher.

  • She is project manager for "Erasmus Inter-Istitutionnel Accord", signed by the University of Catania and the Université  de Limoges (France) for the years 2010-13, which provides for the teaching of a candidate for the doctorate courses and mutual period of study of a student for six months.

  • She is project manager for' "Inter-institutional Agreement ERASMUS" between the University of Catania and Okan University in Istanbul (Turkey) for the years 2011-14, which includes the teaching of the candidate to PhD courses and mutual period of study of a student for six months.

  • She is member of the University Center for the Protection and Management of Natural Environments and Agroecosystem, Interfaculty Centre of the University of Catania.

  • She, has been, and is referent professor for the tutoring activities conducted by:

    Annamaria Barbagallo, research fellow (SSD MAT/05), at the Educational Structure in Aggregate Ecological Sciences of the University of Catania.

    Lorenzo Bellocchi, student of the Master of Science in Mathematics, in the course of study in
Environmental Sciences of the University of Catania.

Environmental Science and Natural University of Catania.

  • Since January 2003,  is the referent of the Italian Mathematical Union for the seat of Catania.

  • On November 1st, 2009 has been appointed Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Catania.
  • On June 18th, 2012 she was awarded a PhD in Mathematics from the University Luleå (Sweden).

  • She is actually President of the Master of Science for Environmental Protection.

  • In January 2013 she was elected director of the University Center for the Protection and Management of Natural Environments and Agro-ecosystems, interfaculty center of Catania University.

Teaching Activity

  • In a. y. 1992-1993, 1993-1994 and 1994-1995 as of 27/04/93, after the appointment of
researcher, performs exercises of Calculus I for the degree course in Mathematics.
During periods: 22/06/94 - 29/10/94 and 10/01/95 - 29/02/96 is in terms of article 4 of law no. 30.11.71. 1204 (mandatory disqualification from work for maternity).

  • Member of the PhD course in Applied Mathematics for Engineering, University of  Catania, cycles XIX, XX XXI, XXII, in which she teaches Differential Equations for several years.
 For the PhD course in Mathematics XXIV cycle, University of Catania, held the course: Stability and well-posedness for elliptic and parabolic equations.

  • In a. a.1996-97 / 2001-02 performs the exercises of Mathematics for the degree course of in Mathematics and the degree course in Geology.

  • In a. y. 2003-04, 2004 05, 2006-06, 2008-09, 2011-12, is the teacher of the course of differential equations for the degree course in Mathematics and a Master in Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Catania, and is also supervisor of thesis.

  • In a. y. 1997-98 / 2006-2007 continuously holds courses Calculus I, Mathematical Analysis II and III in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Catania.

  • In a. y. 2001-02 / 2011-2012 held uninterruptedly courses of Mathematics, Principles of Mathematics, Mathematical and Statistical Methods, Laboratory of statistical methods and mathematical models and computer applied to the environment, Mathematical models applied to the environment o the degree courses  and masters of the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences of the University of Catania.

  • In a. y. 2011-12 held  courses of Mathematics for the Master of Science Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Catania.

  • In a. y. 2011-12 is coordinator of the Partial Differential Equations and Variational inequalities for the Scuola Superiore of Catania.

  • In a. y. 2005-06 / 2012-13 is continuously appointed teacher of the course of Computer Science of Medicine and Surgery of the Faculty  in the University of Catania.
In the a. y. 2012-13 is teacher of the course Mathematical Analysis, of the  course Mathematical methods and models for the master of Science in Environmental Sciences and Natural  and of the course of Mathematical models applied to the environment for the master in Science for the Protection Environment of the University of Catania.

  • She is member of the "Conference Secretariat" of the international conference "Boundary value problems for elliptic and parabolic operators" held in Catania, 12 to 14 November 1998.

  • Directs the section "Linear Partial Differential Equations" at the international conference "Eleventh International Colloquium on Differential Equations", Plovdiv (Bulgaria), 18 to 23 August 2000.
