Neurotransmitter and neurotrophin receptors in glial cells; studies on the glial fibrillary acidic protein (GenBank accession number Z48978 e AF028784); studies on neuronal connexins (discovery of a novel member of the mammalian connexin family, GenBank accession number AF153047, AF016190, AY341000, AF514298); experimental therapy of glioma tumors; cancer genomics; biochemistry of cancer.

2007-2011 elected member of the Governing Council of the International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN), a nonprofit membership organization and the only international society focused on neurochemistry. With a proud history dating back to its establishment in 1965, ISN strives to promote all relevant aspects of molecular and cellular neuroscience.
